Chihuly Garden and Glass At-Home Theater

The Theater at Chihuly Garden and Glass provides guests the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes with Dale Chihuly, learn more about how he works and what inspires him, and be immersed in the choreography of his team in the hotshop.

While we are closed to the public, we invite you to create your own Chihuly Garden and Glass Theater experience through this selection of videos.

Chihuly Playing with Fire: Throughout his career, Dale Chihuly has continually evolved his series of works, pushing the boundaries of glass and redefining the way people experience this art form.

Chihuly Garden Cycle: Chihuly’s Garden Cycle began in 2001 at Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago. He then exhibited at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, near London, in 2005, and at more than 10 beautiful gardens in the United States. Chihuly Garden and Glass was the first garden created specifically to integrate with his work.

Chihuly Macchia: Inspired to use all 300 colors in his hotshop, Chihuly explores unexpected color combinations with the Macchia series, which can be seen at Chihuly Garden and Glass.

Clear Cylinders at the Boathouse 2019: Since 1975, Chihuly has created an ever-evolving range of Cylinders, using the “pick-up" technique to fuse glass thread drawings onto molten bubbles. The Northwest Room at Chihuly Garden and Glass showcases how Chihuly evolved this series over time.

“The cinema is one of my first loves and had I not started working with glass,
I’ve often thought that I would have become a film director.”
